About Us

Gray Horse Farm is a special private training barn in Illinois. Dreaming big is part of the program.

Who We Are

We are a small Dressage/Hunter/Jumper barn with spark. We love what we do which carries into our lessons, training, and our everyday routines. We support and encourage an environment of growth and learning. We are a team, no matter what your riding discipline is.

“Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.”

Why Choose Gray Horse Farm?

I am passionate about teaching and bringing along horses. Watching the bond develop between horse and rider is what feeds my soul. I enjoy teaching both Dressage and Jumpers. I secretly enjoy introducing dressage skills to jumper riders and trot poles to dressage riders. I love stretching my riders scope.

I believe slow and steady wins the race. There are no short cuts. Seeing my riders working hard to meet their personal goals and exceeding those expectations is fabulous. Riding is not about being right or looking pretty; it’s about understanding the horse and developing that special harmony. That is why we ride.

Horses are magnificent animals and I feel honored to work with all horses. Gray Horse Farm is a dream come true for me.

How We Got Our Name

Gray Horse Farm is named after the first horse I bought called “Zeke”. I owned him for over 22 years. He was a handsome 14.2 hand gray Arabian stallion who possessed the best temperament I have ever met. He was an accomplished dressage horse, hunter/jumper horse jumping 2’6″, trail horse who could cross water, (not to mention ride with mares), Open English Pleasure Show Horse, and a trusted friend who taught my very fearful husband how to ride. He is greatly missed and is buried on our property. It is an honor to name our farm after such a noble horse and friend.
